Firstly physics allows us to figure out how the world around us works. It allows us to question and analyse what we see, don't yet understand and also stimulates our curious nature. Physics is not only limited to understanding things that humans have developed and created but also allows us to get fantastic insight into nature and how nature works! We can see connections and patterns around us and creatively guess how these work to give us ideas on how to further develop and create amazing useful things for ourselves and others.

Secondly physics is useful since it stimulates and develops analytical skills, quantitative observation skills and data analysis skills. These three core skills then develop strong problem solving skills which allows students to be better at critical thinking and asking relevant questions. Being able to use these skills not only help in Physics but also in making decisions on a day-to-day basis and developing a sense of comfort in experimenting with various ideas and options even OUTSIDE of the physics discipline! Since all modern technology heavily relies on these skills being developed we believe that these skills will help students in future to become more proficient in their daily lives.

Thirdly, physics helps you to help others. How? When you study to become a doctor or pharmacist it is imperative that you understand how physics works. All manufacturing is based on physics and modern technology for tools and instruments used during surgery or operations related to medicine all rely on a clear understanding of physics and physics principles. Scientific research is what makes the progress we see possible.

Fourth, physics and it's skills opens up the door to multiple career options. Physics allows you to be accepted to fields of study such as engineering, medicine, education, animation, programming, environmental and law related fields. Studies have also shown that physicists are more likely to end up in top positions such as management and policy positions due to the problem solving abilities.

Fifthly physics is very challenging which stimulates curiosity as well as persistence. The ability to persist is most important in physics since the challenges require you to master multiple concepts and skills to achieve the desired results and abilities. This diversity in skills and abilities cultivated by studying physics enables physics related study fields to be extremely profitable after completing post school studies.

Clearly the skills and abilities cultivated through the study of physics are numerous and can benefit every physics student not only in their future career choices but also in their daily lives! It might be a challenge but can you rise to the occasion?
